About Linda Cardona Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist
Born and raised in Tijuana Baja California, México. Linda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Universidad Iberoamericana. She continued her education in Universidad de Chile, where she specialized in Chronic Illnesses and started training as a Bariatric Dietitian, 13 years ago. At this point she has treated more than 15,000 patients. Linda provides invaluable personalized counseling to patients who work with our Tijuana, Mexico, bariatric surgery office.
She has been an active international member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) since 2008. She helps patients understand their dietary needs before and after undergoing bariatric surgery.
Linda has worked as a private consultant to medical clinicians and surgeons who work with patients suffering from chronic diseases such as obesity, kidney disease, cancer and diabetes. Her approach is Functional Nutrition and she has been trained by the Institute for Funcional Medicine (AFMCP). She is also a Climate Shaper Certified by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Future Food Institute (FFI), focusing on Sustainable Diets and Food Systems.
She participates in several Dietetic Practice (DPG) groups for Weight Management (WM), Functional Medicine (DIFM), Oncology Nutrition (ON) and Hunger and Environmental Nutrition (HEN) She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
